Minor Misinformation, Minor Article
The Post and Courier, a Charleston, SC newspaper has written a small article about the Genesis Coupe. However, a little of their information is wrong, but the article doesn’t go much into depth about the car anyways. He also has a short interview with Paul Zarres, the general sales manager at Palmetto Hyundai. They state that the Hyundai Genesis uses a clutchless manual transmission with paddle shifters and that the Genesis Coupe is replacing the Tiburon. Just to make the facts right, the automatic transmission that is used in the Tiburon is the ZF 6HP26 which is a 6 speed automatic with a torque converter. Also, it has been stated over and over that the Genesis Coupe is not replacing the Tiburon. Click here to read the article!
In a recent afternoon test drive, the 3.8-liter Genesis coupe proved its need for speed. With comfortable leather seats, the wheel paddles and ample visibility, the coupe galloped between gears and rocketed along on major highways. The engine let loose a throaty rumble not that far removed from muscle car tones. For a sports car in disguise, though, the 306 hp model was steady in traffic and at slow speeds in general.
