Beyond Redline Examines Turbocharger
Beyond Redline has taken apart the exhaust manifold and turbocharger assembly from the 2.0T Genesis Coupe. No surprises here, a typical log manifold with a rather small TD04-based Mitsubishi turbocharger. One interesting thing to note is the BPV is mounted right on the compressor housing, similar to what is done on the SRT-4 Neon. Disappointing though, on a car with double digit mileage they had problems removing the fasteners without breaking anything. The factory fasteners leave a lot to be desired. The turbo-manifold studs and the cat to turbo studs stripped out and needed to be replaced. Not exactly what we were expecting after only putting 95 miles on the car
Needless to say we ordered new ARP hardware for replacement to prevent this from happening again.
