Combine the slowly recovering economy with more self-aware consumers, and you've got a recipe for big change. I remember when we were in the worst thick of the economic crisis. Hyundai ended up UNDERESTIMATING the demand for the Genesis Coupe. As a result, they ran out of limited slip differentials and had to push back delivery on 3.8 Coupes. In Canada, 2.0's were all over the place, and 3.8's hadn't even touched the ground. The writing was on the wall. People just aren't willing to get screwed by big name automakers anymore, and the sales show it. When every other car manufacturer (including Porsche, which I love) saw staggering sales, Hyundai was having trouble keeping up with demand.

Long live the Gen Coupe.
