The easy-to-use system features traffic rerouting, a turn-by-turn list, and a bright display with clear maps. It also accepts voice commands for navigation and radio control. One highlight is the function that displays the selected route along with a mileage breakdown by highway, toll road, and ferry. The nav is packaged with a 10-speaker Infinity sound system and features Bluetooth audio streaming as well as iPod, USB, and auxiliary inputs. It’s XM-capable and includes a 90-day trial that also provides real-time traffic info.

In case you didn’t know, Rhys Millen Racing was one of the first racing teams in the US to recieve a Genesis Coupe for racing. However, RMR’s Genesis Coupe only looks like a Genesis Coupe – the car had been significantly lightened (to a target of around 2400 pounds) and power bumped far higher than the stock car, along with custom widebody carbon fiber panels. The car looks great, to see more details of the build and on RMR see this post here with lote of pictures by Car and Driver.

[Source: Car and Driver]

Turning a relatively benign Genesis coupe into a tire-melting, single-minded asphalt-o-philiac with a target weight of 2400 pounds will involve removing all interior components not required to anchor the driver in place, stripping the chassis of all insulation, rubber, and adhesives, and then stitch-welding the structure for rigidity.

Its only a short drive, but Car and Driver has taken the 2.0T model out for a short drive. They like the feature list, and they compare the engine to the Mitsubishi 4B11. It also uses the Siemens VDO ECU-II for engine management, which is a fairly new and complex system. Click here for the full review.

Hyundai knows 210 horsepower in a 3380-pound car won’t astound anyone. It imagines the base Genesis coupe with its 2.0-liter turbocharged four as a blank canvas for tuners and speed-widget makers chasing the young buyers who will be hooked by the turbo’s $22,750 starting price.
